Notes on this compliation:
There are several different songs here bearing the moniker “Cocaine Blues”, and then there are many re-workings and i haven’t always included the original song, so if the musicology interests you’ll have to research – here’s just some music.
(Although this does finish with the traditional tune “Little Sadie”, even though that song contains no references to cocaine, simply because it became the basis for the “Cocaine Blues” that was finally made famous by Johnny Cash.)
oh, if you didn’t know already cocaine was originally marketed as a medicine for children.
Spaguetti & Chilli Western
July 14, 2010
Irresistable spicy instrumental twangers mixed up with samples, speeches and sound effects from the genre.
Satan’s Pilgrims – Psychsploitation (2009)
July 14, 2010
Alway’s liked their records – but this one took me by surprise – loads of my favourite rare 60′s psychedelic instrumentals got the twang treatment – quite surreal listening to stuff you frequently dropped acid to presented as kinda lounge music…. but i still love it
Spend The Night With The Trashwomen (1993)
July 14, 2010
Rock Out Of This World Volumes 1-3
July 5, 2010
3 top notch sets of wild rock n roll
Featuring amongst many the awesome Benny Joy and incomparable Dean Carter – if ya dig them there’s many more to rock yer world here.
Loop – a Guilded Eternity (1990)
July 5, 2010
The UK has produced a fair amount of noisy psychedelic drone rock, the likes of The Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine & Spacemen 3, Flying Saucer Attack etc. For me Loop stand well above all those acts and this, their last, was their finest work – er yes it is drug music.
Frolic Diner – Volumes 1-3
June 8, 2010
yes you lucky fiends the first 3 volumes of this lovely set and….
coming soon parts 4-6
World Psychedelic Classics 3: Love’s A Real Thing – The Funky Fuzzy Sounds of West Africa
June 8, 2010

Gibson Bros. & Workdogs – Punk Rock Truck Drivin’ Song of a Gun
June 8, 2010
two of the greatest most under rated acts to have emanated from rock’s gutter combined! rare as fuck and as good too.

Love, Peace & Poetry Vol 8 – African Psychedelic Music
June 18, 2010
One of the most eye (ear?) opening volumes of this very interesting collection – it’s in the nature of these things that not every track is a winner.
i cant reproduce the excellent sleeve notes here – if ya dig and can afford, it’s worth buying for that, although i’m not sure about the artwork – the girl looks fine, but californian not African!
Teen Trash from Psychedelic Tokyo ’66-’69 Volumes 1-3
June 22, 2010
MONSTER A GO-GO
see sex starved lizards grab girls and go-go!
Big Lizard Stomp!
are they looking for revenge or do they just want to dance?
SLITHERAMA
hundreds flattened in komatsu squish-fest
If you like 60′s garage and rock n roll and havent yet got hip to what was going on in japan you are in for a raucous treat.
Featuring choice cuts from the late 60′s jap “group sounds” scene of the spiders, the mops, the golden cups, takeshi teriaki & the bunnys and many more. An amazingly cool set of comps – the music is as irresistable as the artwork and concept.
Angel Dust – Music For Movie Bikers
June 22, 2010
What a classic comp – the artwork, the samples and most importantly the music that is mostly provided by Dave Allan & The Arrows. A must for all fuzz freaks, bikers and good honest pill poppin folk everywhere.
This was the first collections of retro music i listened to and got into, i guess in no small part cos it was put out by noise luminaries Blast First and featured great sleeve notes by a Mr Steve Albini whose music at that time floated my boat a lot more. As regulars will know i’m hooked on the old stuff nowadays.
